Just in from Don Saklad: it seems like you're not allowed to take pictures
in the Boston Public Library:
"Photographs, videotapes, or audiotapes of ... members of the Library staff

I was thinking that it would be interesting to do a news story about this
prohibition. A news story involves shooting news, as it happens, e.g.
shooting the people prohibiting such shooting.
This would be wonderfully self-referrential, e.g. a news story about

Worldwide Flash Mob: tonight, 2003 December 24th.
Anywhere and everywhere, you can participate by creating a flash of
light. Find a Metz Mecablitz, or just use your on-camera flash, and
take a picture at 23:59:58, 59, or, depending on the slowness of your
shutter, a fraction of a second just before midnight.
Where ever you are, point a camera flash up into the night sky,
and LET THERE BE LIGHT at exactly midnight.

This little light of mine
Earlier tonight (around 5:30pm, 2003 December 24th),
I brought my little
light to Jason's
apartment, so we could let it shine through a little cutout of a cursor,
to see how a cursor might look on the OCAD building.
Just after sunset, the sky in the background was "the
color of television tuned to a blank channel".
