My philosophy was to use a whole roll of film for each picture, so each of these pictures is multiple exposures on the roll (e.g. one picture is approximately 20 or 30 or 36 exposures). In printing I would stack up the negatives to average over multiple realizations of the physical process. More recently, problems with the Callier effect can be overcome using C.E.M.E.N.T..
