Seeing aids (electric magnifiers and the like) not allowed in Richtree Market Restaurants (TM)

General Manager gives no explanation why

It's just "company policy"

My electric eyeglasses were recently damaged, so I'm wearing older eyeglasses that don't work very well.

Shortly before 5pm, on Thursday 2008 October 30, I was using a hand-held camera as a pocket magnifier and wayfinding aid.

I might add that some of the signage has very poor legibility and many of the numbers on prices are faded out (as if perhaps from being changed often).

However, with in-camera magnification and histogram adjustment some of the signs are still legible:

While reading this sign (note the poor legibility of the last entry even under extreme 10-megapixel magnification):

I was informed that taking pictures is not allowed.

When I explained the situation to the General Manager, he would not give a reason, other than a vague reference to "policy".

In case this matter needs to be pursued legally (for evidence), or at least for quality control and training purposes (inquiry to head office), etc., I switched my camera to video mode and left it running so that I would have a video record of the incident:

I also asked for a business card so that I can write a letter to the manager:

An accessible version of the text on the above business card appears below:
