Nature submissions

Nature is pleased to accept online submissions for Articles (including, but only by request, Review and Progress Articles) and Letters. Do not use this system for Brief Communications or other sections; see instead our Guide to Authors.

Please follow these guidelines carefully to ensure your submission proceeds smoothly.

1. How to get published in Nature
   Before submitting any material to Nature, please read these general guidelines on Nature's publication policy. Also available in Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
   
   
2. Guide to Authors
   Before submitting any material to Nature, please read carefully our guide to authors, which explains how manuscripts should be structured and formatted. Also available in German, Japanese and Chinese.
   
   
3. Competing financial interests
   In the interest of transparency, the Nature journals will be requiring authors of research articles to declare any competing financial interests in relation to papers accepted for publication. For details, please see our policy.
   
   
4. Presubmission enquiries
   Presubmission enquiries may be made before a manuscript is complete, or before it is in Nature style to determine whether it is likely to be of interest to the journal. Presubmission enquiries are not compulsory.
   
   
5. Submissions
   Use our online submissions engine to send Letters and Articles to be considered for publication in Nature. This is the preferred and most efficient method of submission. For the fastest response, please present your manuscript in the Nature MS Word template. If you are unable to make an electronic submission, details of how to make a postal submission may be found in the Guide to Authors.
   
   
6. Revised submissions
   This section applies only if you have been asked to resubmit your manuscript by a Nature editor.
   
   
7. Production-quality files
   Guide to preparing production-quality figures and text files. This section applies only if you have been asked to submit production-quality material by a Nature editor.
