Standard Applications
Many standard applications such as wordprocessors, scheduling packages, and networking software will find new uses when put on a wearable. Wearable computers can be used anywhere a notebook computer would be used, with one big advantage: you don't need a table to put them on. This makes standard applications available to people who can't work at a desk:
Anywhere, Anytime Information and Communication
- Stock Brokers -- 24-hour a day access to stock quotes, on-line trading, and alarms.
- Tax assessors, insurance adjusters, and real-estate appraisers: instant access to tables and codes
- Military
- Commuters: On-line newspapers and office work on the train
- Rural doctors (access to on-line information and notes)
- Atheletes (race cars, biicycle racing, distance runners): Global Positioning Systems, communications information, weather reports, etc.
- Horse betting
- Real estate agents (always have access to forms, maps, prices, negotiation history, etc)

- Decorators/designers/color matching
- Emergency services (fire/police command and control)
- Speech makers (wearables allow for impromptu speeches, and future displays will allow eye-contact while reading notes, which is not the case for a notebook computer).

- Homemaker/professional: Wearables allow asynchronous and unobtrusive communication for contact with family or company while in meetings or negotiations
