Is there a registration fee?

No. No fancy banquet either, but no registration or booth reservation fees.

Can I come just as an observer, not as a speaker?

Probably. Send us an e-mail telling us that you'd like to do that, and how many people would be in the group, so that we can accurately predict attendance. So far it doesn't look like we're going to max out the room's capacity.

What is the agenda? When will it be published? What papers will be presented?

We'll publish a workshop program after we've selected speakers/panelists from among the submitted position papers. We'll probably have it out by the week of July 22.

Will papers be handed out or published?

There are no plans to do so. However, a refereed/published conference is in the planning stages to co-occur with the Atlanta, GA (USA) CHI '97 conference in March. Watch this server for details.

Will we transmit the conference on MBONE?

No.

Miscellaneous Information:

Seattle hotels are booked heavily in August. Four hotels near the conference site are holding blocks of rooms for us (their names and phone numbers will be provided to attendees at the time they are notified that they've been selected to attend), but they'll book up fast. Get your hotel reservation in as soon as we notify you that you're invited.

The meeting is being held in a Boeing building. That doesn't put any restrictions on who may attend (the building's main purpose is to house training facilities for airline mechanics from all over the world), but it does imply that the Boeing people who manage the building will need the name and nationality of every attendee.
